INEOS Announces UK biofuels plans |

| INEOS, the global chemicals group, has announced its intention to make a major investment in UK biofuels refining capacity. |
| The scale and location of the investment has yet to be determined, but Grangemouth would be a strong contender given INEOS Refining's existing operation on the site. It is likely that any initial investment would be in biodiesel refining, but the company is also considering the opportunity for bioethanol production. |
| This announcement follows Roquette Freres' recent statement of their intention to develop a 95,000 tonne bioethanol refinery in Northamptonshire. Both businesses are established producers in the French biofuels market. |
