RPA�s proposed support mechanism to enable emerging renewable energy sources to enter the Renewables Obligation |

| The RPA has been working for several months on support measures for the emerging technologies. It invited a number of organisations to a meeting to discuss the proposals, with the end result that a letter signed by a number of organisations was sent to the Energy Minister. |
The proposed mechanism is described in the attached document (and provisionally referred to as Pre-commercial Renewables Offtake Contracts or �PreROCs�) meets the main objectives, which were:
- To be coherent with, and complementary to the RO
- To stimulate economies of scale
- To focus funds on successful projects and technologies
