RPA Briefing note on the EU Emissions Trading Scheme and its impacts on renewables

DEFRA published the UK's National Allocation Plan today. The NAP sets out how carbon dioxide emission allowances will be allocated to the affected UK industry sectors for the first phase of the EU ETS scheme, which runs from 2005 to 2007. It is subject to further consultation.

Here we summarise the impacts on renewable generators, some of which are anomalous.
