Key Renewables Data 2004 & The RO for Non-Specialists
Submitted: 22 July 2004
The RPA organised two successful half-day events on Thursday 22nd July 2004 for observers of the renewable energy industry. The events were held at Hammonds, London and the PowerPoint presentations from the morning event can be found below.

The RPA Renewables Yearbook 2004

The overall rated renewable capacity of UK power plant increased by less than 5% in the year to 31st March 2004. But this apparently disappointing headline figure conceals a more encouraging picture for the growth of green generation. The RPA Renewables Yearbook 2004 analyses the latest data and explains what is going on.

The RPA Renewables Yearbook, launched in 2003, was recognised as the definitive reference document for the UK Renewables Industry. The Yearbook defines the key statistics for the UK renewable power industry in terms of capacity and output with invaluable analysis by technology and region. It also identifies the primary legislative influences and de-mystifies the sector with a glossary of the many buzzwords, acronyms and guidance documents used by its participants. The morning session of the event launched the 2004 Yearbook and discussed its key outputs. The PowerPoint presentations made throughout the morning can be found below.

The Renewables Obligation for non-specialists

A handful of experts work with the Renewables Obligation on a daily basis. Many others, however, are influenced by the RO and need some understanding of the market in Renewables Obligation Certificates (ROCs).

The half-day seminar in the afternoon of the 22 July gave a solid overview of the legislation, how it affects different participants in the sector and its impact on their revenue streams.
