REA response to the Energy Review
Submitted: 13 April 2006
We share the Government’s view that there are important issues to address in the UK’s energy system. We welcome the Minister’s willingness to consider all aspects, and accordingly this submission addresses all major strategic energy issues as well as providing specific responses to the questions raised in the consultation.

At the same time we believe that the primary policy objectives expressed in the 2003 White Paper remain appropriate, and that this review should focus, not on setting a new direction, but on implementing policies to ensure those objectives are met.

Follow the link below to read our full submission.

The REA also commissioned IPA Energy Consulting to undertake a review of existing published studies on the potential contribution that renewable heat, power and fuels could make towards the UK’s energy demand.

The full report will be placed on the website shortly.
