REA & BWEA Members meet to discuss potential merger
Submitted: 25 September 2006
On Wednesday 20th September, members of the REA and the British Wind Energy Association met in London to discuss the proposed merger between the two associations.
The presentation, which you can download below, outlines the discussion of the day and covers many aspects of the merger, including:
  • arguments for, and benefits of the merger,
  • how all sectors of the renewables industry will continue to be represented and addressed,
  • the proposed operational and membership structures,
  • the process and timeline for implementing a merger,
  • the business plan,
  • considerations of the name of the new association, currently favoured by members to be the Renewable Energy Association,
  • and some frequently asked questions.
Please contact the REA if you have any more queries.

A subsequent meeting for members in Scotland and northern England is planned in Glasgow on 12th October.
