IMechE Seminar: Renewable Power in the Community - City and Countryside, 31 March 2004
Submitted: 12 January 2004
This seminar will review what is currently possible in terms of Renewable Energy, with input from Academics and Industry Engineers. Presenters will also look to the future and examine what might be possible in years to come. The seminar will discuss the merits of various renewable energy sources from solar power to energy from waste, addressing the issue of community involvement in projects and the importance of creating a sense of ownership. Advice will also be given on where finance for community renewable projects can be sought.
The seminar will: address community involvement and ownership; examine how to engage local communities; explore planning issues for renewables; identify future possibilities.
This one-day event is aimed at Engineers of all levels involved in Renewable Power who work alongside Community Developers, Local Authorities and Housing Associations who want to gain a greater awareness of the possibilities of providing communities in the UK with renewable energy options.
