RPA Annual Conference: "Renewables in the firing line"- 16th September 2004
Submitted: 16 September 2004
The RPA's 2004 Annual Conference will take place on Thursday 16th September, from 10:00am to 4:30pm. It will be held in the Flett Theatre at the Natural History Museum in Kensington. The cocktail reception (hosted by The Curzon Partnership), and dinner will take place at the nearby Millennium Gloucester Hotel in The Conservatory. The Conference Programme and Registration Form can be found in the attachment below. A location map of the Natural History Museum can also be found below.
RPA Annual Conference Overview

Renewable power is a key contributor to the Government’s plans to build a low carbon economy. But there is still much debate about whether it has the policies to match the rhetoric. Meanwhile, there is a growing backlash from some parts of the community. This year’s RPA conference addresses the key issues facing the industry as it strives to make its full contribution to the UK’s energy mix:

  • Can we afford to rely on renewables? Is it realistic to do so?
  • Are we now set on the path to delivery?
  • Do we have in place the policies we need? Do all parties agree?
Single day - attractive venues

Given that so many senior people are taking part, this year’s conference will take place on one day only: Thursday 16th September, from 10:00am to 4:30pm.

The Conference will be held in the Flett Theatre of the Natural History Museum in Kensington. The cocktail reception (hosted by The Curzon Partnership), and dinner will take place at the nearby Millennium Gloucester Hotel in The Conservatory.

Speakers and panellists include:

  • Front bench spokesmen from all the main political parties.
  • Directors of the top power and renewables companies.
  • Leading campaigners from green NGOs.
In traditional RPA style, the proceedings encourage participation and debate.
