Technical Director (Energy & Sustainability)
Based: London

An excellent opportunity to work for a leading consultancy as a Technical Director (Energy & Sustainability).
This is a senior role to provide a technical overview primarily in the disciplines of energy efficient design and energy assessments in the built environment. The individual will also lead the growing capability in renewable energy and be responsible for energy related market development activity. They will work closely with other technical mangers and technical directors in the environmental team and other offices to ensure high quality, consistent approach to technical outputs and client management.

Experience
Essential:
�Relevant engineering or science degree
�7-10 years relevant experience, including experience in environmental consulting, working for a major environmental or multidisciplinary engineering firm
�Extensive experience in assessing energy demand in the built environment and delivery of energy efficient design in the property sector
�Evidence of leading successful teams
�Use of SAP, SBEM, IES and other building simulation tools
�Evidence of experience working at the very earliest stages of the conceptual engineering design process to inform and drive energy efficient building design
� Working knowledge of current environmental planning legislation, case laws, standards and guidance. This will include Part L of the Building Regulations, relevant PPSs. The code for Sustainable Homes and the Mayor of London�s guidance documents and toolkits.
� Experience in the development and marketing of new energy related products and services.
�Proven experience in preparing major tender documents including financial and recourse breakdowns.
�Track record in key account management, business development and winning new business.
�Expertise in preparing literate, high quality reports with appropriate IT skills
�Experience in managing contractors, sub contractors and sub consultants
�Membership of CIBSE

Desirable:
�MSc or equivalent in a relevant field
�A background in M&E; engineering
�Knowledge of and interest in renewable energy, particularly those technologies that can be integrated into the built environment.
�Qualification as a CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant
