Mechanical Engineer - Segen

Segen is the UK�s leading micro-wind and micro-hydropower consulting and contracting company. Due to continued expansion we are pleased to be able to offer the following position:
Mechanical Engineer This is a permanent full-time position, based in Stroud, Gloucestershire (Includes significant UK travel), �18-25k pa depending on experience.
Reporting to Senior Engineer.

The Role
�Provides technical support for engineering aspects of wind turbine and micro-hydro installations, including commissioning and sign-off
�Participates in development of new products, including subcontract and supplier activities
�Contributes to project documentation and provides regular reports on status, risks and plans
�Gives hands-on, practical contribution to all operational aspects of the company�s business

The Person
�Minimum 3 years of experience in a position of technical responsibility
�Preferably qualified to degree level in mechanical engineering (minimum HNC/HND qualified with substantial relevant experience)
�A good understanding of electrical systems an advantage
�An interest and/or experience in renewable energy systems, particularly wind and hydro
�Experience of practical engineering (apprenticeship-served / site work / installation / prototype building an advantage
�Enthusiastic, self-motivating; able to operate with minimal supervision
�Flexible, practical and pragmatic approach to problem solving
�Good communication and team interaction skills
�Computer literate; CAD experience an advantage
�Full driving licence + car
